How Do I Blog?

Blogging is reasonably easy. You do need to be able to write on a regular basis. People expect to see new content every day or second day.

It really is pretty easy though. Find a topic of interest and start blogging. OK, it is a bit more than that, but once you have set your site up, you can start blogging daily.

This is important - so listen up!

You need to either start a blog on a free blogging site;

or

register your own domain and load software onto it.

If you are serious about blogging, you should register your own domain. If you don't you could start blogging on one of those free blogging sites and if your blog gets popular, you will always be stuck on someone else's domain.

This is not good if you need to start advertising on your blog to make some cash.

I will give you an example.

You could go to Wordpress.com

Wordpress is an excellent platform to use for blogging. However - there are 2 versions of Wordpress.

1. Wordpress.com

and

2. Wordpress.org.

The .org version is the same software, but it is for people who have registered their own domain. That is, they have registered their own domain and loaded the Wordpress software onto it.

The .com version is hosted by Wordpress.com and if you start a blog on Wordpress.com, it will always be on there.

OK, if you want to make some cash, register your own domain and then use Wordpress for your blog.

This is much better in the long term and also, if you use Wordpress.com, you cannot monetize your site - BUMMER !

How To Start.

Go to Hostgator and register a domain. Hostgator is highly recomended and very cheap.

Once you have done all that, you will be able to automatically load the Wordpress software onto your domain. Then you can start blogging!
